About This Chick

photoWelcome to This Chick’s kitchen! I am so happy that you stopped by!

Please excuse the aroma of garlic as you browse around – that is just my hands; the scent emanates from me and the kitchen, on the regular.

(Speaking of garlic, make sure you always have some fresh bulbs on hand, as well as some olive oil spray whenever hanging out in my kitchen!)

My name is Steph Tulman and I have created This Chick Eats Clean, as a way to share my love for food, cooking and eating clean! I am just a chick in her kitchen, developing (and eating) vegetarian recipes for the hip home cook – dishes that anyone can make, no culinary degree required! I also add how to modify the dishes for vegans and carnivores, where applicable! I live in Arizona, where the Farmer’s Markets are alive and well all year long! (And take full advantage of the abundance of gorgeous produce!) I am self-taught, and still self-teaching…. however in July 2013, I will begin my certification in Holistic Nutrition for more well-rounded knowledge on whole food and its’ nutritional benefits. You bet your crock-pot, that I’ll share the info with you all!

About 2 years ago, I started to practice the barre method of fitness on a daily basis, and cleaned up my eating act! I was being a complete jerk to my body and health for far too long! I had such a weakness for all things bad: Cheetos, Skittles, French Fries, Pizza, Mac ‘n Cheese, you get it… (I still have a weakness for French Fries, Pizza and Mac ‘n Cheese, but now I know how to clean them up for a healthier version………. most of the time. Hey, I’m only human!) When I started working out consistently, I also started cooking weekly with a friend. Granted, it took us hours to produce the final dish because we were gabbing (and sipping wine) the whole time. As life progresses and schedules get busier, she and I had trouble aligning our free evenings and I kept cooking on my own. (No worries, she and I still get together to cook from time to time.) I love the process, the tasting and how I feel after eating so clean and healthy! I especially love the way the food photographs – it’s mouthwatering! As a result of working out and eating clean (minimally to non-processed foods), my world has changed, in body and mind. For the best, obvi!

So, welcome and I’m ecstatic to share this journey with you, as I develop (and devour) clean vegetarian recipes that will leave you feeling your best!

Are you my neighbor across the street? I remember meeting you on Halloween with your brother and you talking about Bar Method. I work from home too, I would love to get together and cook sometime. We are eating Paleo over here (well, I am, my family is a harder sell!)
